Ok, so as usual the Leftos team has been working around the clock, preparing for the upcoming launch of Leftos Alpha. What exactly are we doing?…Finishing our design, building the index, some legal (boring) stuff, and working on all of the other pieces that need to come together before we launch. It’s a lot of work. We’ll just leave it at that.

Anyways, this post isn’t really about Leftos–it’s about an upcoming event that we’re involved in. We want to officially announce to everyone that we will be one of five presenting companies at a technology conference called TechNow09. We’re pretty excited about this to say the least. And heres why…

What is TechNow09

So first off, what is it? TechNow09 is a one night event, bringing together technology start ups, business leaders, Michigan corporations, and the general public, all in an effort to support the economy here in Michigan. The theme of the event is “Transitioning Michigan into a knowledge economy” and how technology will play a pivotal role in that change. Leftos will be presenting alongside 4 other young, and innovative start ups located here in Michigan. Following the presentations will be a discussion by a panel of prominent business leaders, a cocktail hour for networking, and live music to finish off the night. The event will be held on April 23rd, 2009 at 6pm at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.  

Not Your Typical Business Event

Yep, I’m gonna say it again; This is not your typical business event. Were not talking white walls, big rooms, folding tables, and all those other boring images that come to mind when hearing the words “business event”. Think more along the lines of a concert (minus the music, and plus a few exciting tech startups). A couple key differences: It’s at The Royal Oak Music Theatre, a popular concert venue with a really cool atmosphere,  they’ll be drinks, food, and a live performance by Manolete, a Michigan based band that, trust me, you’ll wanna check out. It’s gonna be a fun and entertaining night for everyone, and Leftos is proud to be a part of it.
